Cal OSHA Consultation
Cal OSHA consultation is provided by the state of California for employers and
workers to aid with compliance regarding safety in the workplace and health issues. Consultation
does not guarantee that you will receive OSHA compliance however, they will work with you to achieve OSHA
compliance
Consultation assistance is provided to employers through on-site visits, telephone support,
publications and etools.

Cal OSHA Enforcement
The enforcement unit has jurisdiction over every employer and place of employment in the state of
California. This jurisdiction is necessary to correctly enforce the occupational safety and health standards
and regulations that Cal OSHA provides.
The Cal OSHA Enforcement Unit may conduct inspections of California workplaces for any of the following
reasons: worker complaints, high hazard industries and accident reports. Of the 22 Cal OSHA district offices
there are the following special enforcement units:
- Asbestos Contractors Registration
- Asbestos Consultation and Site Surveillance Technician Unit
- Asbestos Trainer Approval Unit
- Crane Certifier Accreditation Unit
- High Hazard Compliance Unit
- Mining and Tunneling Unit
The State of California relies on the partnership of industry, labor and government to encourage workplace
safety and health programs to prevent and control injuries and illnesses to workers. Cal OSHA training
provides the awareness to make the programs work. The Cal OSHA program is responsible for enforcing California laws
and regulations pertaining to safety in the workplace and the general health and environment of employees and
conditions. It also provides compliance assistance to employers and employees regarding workplace saftey and
health issues.
